Complaints about a certification body
Every certification body has a procedure for complaints, disputes and appeals. Please raise the matter in writing with the certification body first.
If the certification body cannot resolve the matter, you may contact IACAB with full details. Complaints about bodies not accredited by IACAB will be forwarded to the relevant accreditation body where possible.
What to include
- Your name, organisation and contact details
- The name of the certification body and the certificate concerned
- A description of the complaint with supporting evidence
- Details of your attempts to resolve the matter with the certification body
IACAB reserves the right not to process anonymous complaints or complaints without supporting evidence.
Appeals against IACAB decisions
Applicants and accredited bodies may appeal against an accreditation decision. Appeals are heard by a panel whose members had no involvement in the original decision and no direct interest in the subject of the appeal.
